Customer Question

Hi Glen,
The manual gearbox in my 1992 nx has failed and I'm an amatuer trying to get the old one out and fit a second hand unit.
The left hand dive shaft is reluctant to slide out. Is it retained in position or should it just slide out like the right hand one did?
Thank you.

Hi Graeme,

The left shaft will have a circlip on the inner end that locks it into the diff side gear, like nearly all driveshafts do.

You need a big prybar or lever to "pop" the driveshaft out.

Have you removed driveshafts from other transaxles prior to this one?
