I have a 2009 rx auto navara wanting to tow a 19 foot dual axle caravan should I be using overdrive ?

Hi .

No keep the OD switched off .

If the OD is ON then the transmission actually has to work harder and can cause it to overheat .

even though the transmission is set up to drop out of OD when under a heavy load, but could make the transmission change up and down too much depending on the roads being driven .

I would use the OD if i'm on a flat road or slight downward slope.
