my son has a holden astra city which ran out of fuel, he is told now that the emobilizer has kicked in could this be the case how easy is that to fix and could any other issue arise

Hi there,
There's no reason for the vehicle running out of fuel to trip the immobiliser - it should be a simple case of refilling with fuel & starting the vehicle.
Maybe a little more info would help - is the vehicle cranking but not starting, or simply not cranking at all?
