hi my 2007 holden captiva has always been serviced through holden every 10000 kms now the timing chain has gone apparently at 94000 kms and im looking at 6000 dollars to fix
help im a single mum and how can I come up with 6000 dollars alos shouldn't the timing chain last longer than 94000

Hi there,
There was a known manufacturing fault on certain Holden V6 engines built during 2007 involving the timing chain. Holden were rectifying the issue free of charge, & should be continuing to do so. The Km's you are indicating match up with other examples of this failure.
This link outlines the serial numbers involved. If you aren't dealing with a Holden factory service centre - do so. If you are & they are fobbing you off, stand your ground. Holden definitely have knowledge of the fault..
