I have purchased a 2007 S40 Volvo with a 5cyl. turbo diesel

Customer Question

I have purchased a 2007 S40 Volvo with a 5cyl. turbo diesel engine with 100,000 ks on the clock. Occasionally when slightly accelerating at speeds below about 60 kph the car will do a fairly severe jerk with a corresponding clunk noise. The same jerk &
clunk can also occur when starting from stand still The CV joints have been checked & are OK

My name is ***** ***** I am a professional here at Just Answer. I noticed that your question was not getting a response and thought I would see if you still need help with this.I apologize for the delay and I hope I can still assist you with this here.
On some models if the pressure control/regulating solenoid in the transmission is acting up this will cause this fault here.If this has not been checked to see if there is an issue with transmission fluid pressure or an issue with the transmission valve body this needs done.If a fault is found it will need corrected to resolve this.
Thanks Pete
