Cadillac seville: In Australia 98-2003 sts/sls caddys come

Customer Question

In Australia 98-2003 sts/sls caddys come to us RHDrive via Japan, guess what all manuals are in Japanese.. One of the ones we have 4.6 gas runs ruff of start up till warm, sometimes quit a few miles.A diagnostics say it is a sensor that controls cold starting. #1/what is it? #2 Where is it . Not a cooling system sensor as our GMs produced here cover that. Have tried Rockautos in Ohio but we perhaps name things differently here. A few years ago ypu helptd me release an STS foot parking brake that had jammed, was so simple. Regards ALAN (STONE)

Hi Alan and thanks for using JustAnswer. My name is ***** ***** be really handy to know a trouble code number your diagnostic system shows.#1 and #2 could be referred to O2 sensors like Bank #1 or Bank #2, but I can only guess without knowing exactly what diagnostic shows. Also, there is no such a thing like a sensor that controls cold starting. the engine management system monitors many sensors to control engine systems under different conditions. Please reply back if you have more information. BTW, what year is your STS?

HI, Have seen other comments come up to similar discription of rough run/idle when cold? It will also do this when warm at low rev load when warm. It displays a 6/7 cyl running at startup, quite rough. Our Auto Mechanic will be returning from Sunny Queensland in a couple of days. Regards ***** *****
