Pathfinder: there seems to be oil drain back when the car stands

there seems to be oil drain back when the car stands over night causing timing chain rattle on start up.heavier oil seems to help.can this be an oil pump problem.oil pressure ok after start up.

Hello I've found using genuine oil filters seems to help this problem.If the oil pressure is ok when running then the pump isn't likely to be faulty - I think you were pointing to that in your question.I'd also recommend using Castrol magnatec oil. It gives a great cold start up protection.Depending on the Km's the pathfinder has done that chain might be getting to the end of it's service life and ready for a replacement.
