2001 rav4: blowing smoke..cold starts

toyota 2001 rav4 blowing smoke on cold starts suspect a fuel injecter nozzle dribbling any thoughts?

Hi, if the smoke is black then it could be possibly be an injector but if it is blue smoke then i would be more inclined to suspect worn valve guides and or valve stem seals. The reason it wont smoke once warm would be that this vehicle is fitted with a catalytic converter in the exhaust and these get very hot and burn off anything coming out of the engine. There is no real way to check the valve guides without disassembly of the cylinder head. However if you still suspect a dribbling injector a simple fuel pressure hold test would confirm this.
