Customer: hi - my GF has a 2005 subaru forester 2.5L with 200k service due. = cam chain/belt & ???.... She'd prefer to spend $$ over 2 services. Cam chain/belt was changed at 110k.

Could you advise what to do first?

Thanks, XXXXX XXXXX oz

The belt is due to be changed, I recommend this be priority as if the belt breaks you will be up for thousands in repairs.
hmmmmm..... agreed, however i understand this model has a 'cut off' switch to prevent damage in the event of a cam belt/chain breaking. How effective is this mechanism.

thanks, adrian
I don't know who told you this but it is not the case, there is no prevention for this.
