VerifiedHi wallerK,to reset the prado timing belt light you need to remove the instrument cluster from the dash(its a bit fiddly,i.e.quite a bit of dash facia,umpteen screws & a couple of wiring plugs,just be careful they all go back where they came from),On the back side of the cluster (it looks like printed circuit board)you should find a spot marked't-belt' with two holes(one of them with a screw in it),just remove the screw from its present location & install it in the 'spare'hole,all done for another 100K km.All early toyota diesels(>94-95or so)had a reset button you could access from the front of the dash,the current 'behind the cluster trick'is common on all the toyota diesels i've come across(hiace,hilux,cruiser,prado,etc.)Believe me the first one i came across(in a hiace)had me sratching my head for a while.P.S.if the 'srew swap'isnt marked T-belt it should be just about behind were the t-belt indicator light is on the front,hope this sorts it out for you,thanks,Stew.
