Verified- Brakes:
- Front: Hydraulic 9 inch (229mm) drums
- Note: Power assisted 10.75 inch Girling disc brakes standard on Fairmont from August 1965
- Rear: Hydraulic 9 inch (229mm) drum.
So then you could use the front end of a XP Fairmont and it will give you disc front end. Without having to modify anything.
some cut and paste stuff for you which may help? It was stuff I found online. Seems valid enough information too.
Alternate front end
Mitsubishi L300
already ford stud pattern / disc brakes
radius rods fit right into std mounts
Measure & drill 4 holes in chassis rail & fit crush tubes to mount front end
TC/D cortina rack is correct width
shock towers can be cut out completly leaving very open engine bay
gemini brake booster
If you do the L300 front end conversion you can cut the shock towers right out & have flat inner guards
plenty of room for a clevo
