Customer Question

I have a 2003 Audi RS6. I notice a clicking noise when I make a tight, slow left hand turn. Possible cause. Also notice a slight vibration in the steering wheel that does not seem wheel balance related. Related to clicking noise?
JA: How often does the vibration occur, and when did you last have the tires balanced?
Customer: Could be wheel/tire balance on the vibration. Very slight and occurs around 60 - 65 mph. if I lift the vibration stays. not throttle sensitive in other words. Not noticeable at 70 - 75 mph. Almost due for tires.
JA: Are you fixing your RS6 yourself? What have you tried so far?
Customer: More concerned about clicking noise. Have not tried to investigate. Used to wrench when I was younger and cars were simple. Good friend, wrenches on his BMW, has offered to help with front suspension work if needed. One hundred and sixty five thousand freeway miles so probably due.
JA: Anything else you want the mechanic to know before I connect you?
Customer: Just had a major service including timing belt. Car still runs great. No oil consumption. Still stupid fast so just concerned about suspension wear and clicking noise.
