I have an audi a6 automatic 2007...its rattles n makes a lot of noise most of the time when I start it...then its you know what this is please???
Hi,my name is XXXXX XXXXX I will assist you with your question.
How long does the noise last?
Are there any warning lights coming on?
Any recent repairs made?
How many miles are on the vehicle?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Only until engine warning recent repairs...106646 miles

The noise that you are hearing is consistent with a failing timing tensioner that is wearing out and is need of replacement, the tensioner is creating slack which is resulting in the noise. The first step I would suggest is to have the timing components checked.

Hi...would this get worse when the car warms up and would with the rattle sometimes there would b a noise like an empty bottle shaking???

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi...a mechanic this morning says it is coming from the back of the engine...does this car hav a dual mass fly wheel

Ok if the noise is coming from the rear of the engine this is coming from the flywheel area and this vehicle does have a dual mass flywheel that will cause the empty bottle type of noise that you are hearing.
