Customer Question
hi Tyler D Tyler I...
hi Tyler D Tyler I have a Viking dual fuel oven VDSC536 The customer could not get it into self clean. I have tried to find the bake element terminals for this hidden bake element in the bottom but could not find its terminals in the back . I could just find the Broil terminals. Is there a chance the terminals to test the bake element would be covered by the side panels

You're going down the wrong path if you're looking for the bake element for self clean---the oven uses the broil element for self clean. Does the door lock when you select self clean? What happens when you try to self clean?

it doesn't work

I apologize I have not tried it myself yet but camn go up and try it in a minute. the customer had jjust said it was not going into self clean. I would assume the self clean procedure would be to set it on self clean on the both control knobs tyler and then see if it locks right away. Not sure how to set this on self clean unless I go back in there
Appliance Technician: Tyler Z., Appliance Doc replied 8 months ago

OK just let me know what it does, what lights come one, if the door locks, etc...

when I try it tyler should be locking right away within the first couple of minutes
Appliance Technician: Tyler Z., Appliance Doc replied 8 months ago

Should lock in the first 2 minutes of setting self clean.

Tyler I set both control knobs on self clean the door does not lock and the lights are not coming on . It’s been on for 5 min. When The customer tried it the other day the lights were on and 45 minutes later no heat and lights were still on
Appliance Technician: Tyler Z., Appliance Doc replied 8 months ago

Hmm, I'm not sure what to say D, I'll have to opt out on this one. These units are extremely complicated. You could have a bad latch, a bad control board, a bad selector switch, or a bad thermostat control switch. It's really hard to know without being there with a wiring diagram and having Viking walking me through it for that instance so unfortunately I can't be of help on this one.
