The E6 means that the motor has overheated. Most oftentimes, this is due to something being caught between the tubs or at the bottom of the small agitator at the bottom of the tub. Do you see anything that would be impeding the tub's movement?

If you have the agitator (pulsator) out you should see a large nut that keeps the inner tub in (see attached page). Can you remove that nut and lift the tub out and see if anything is caught in between the tubs?
You need to remove the inner tub to get a look down in between the tubs.
