The only way the icemaker makes cube is by freezing the water into ice and once the icemaker cavity mold reaches a temperature of 15 degree only then will the icemaker cycle to harvest and dump those cubes.

So the issue is that the icemaker is not getting cold enough faster enough for your liking.
