  1. Are the burner flames of adequate size?
  2. May I please have the model number of the range?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.

The model tag is behind the lower access panel, under the oven. The model number will look like JDE1234ABW2.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I can't find it
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Did you pull the lower panel off below the door? The tag is usually right in the front on the frame once that panel is off.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
There are no tags anywhere. yes I pulled the lower panel off.
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Hmm, that is pretty odd. How about in the blower area on the top, under the filters?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
no...nothing there
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
The manual says
Jenn-Air Dual Fuel Modular Downdraft Slide In Range Pro-Style
But gives no model number
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Well, unfortunately, with no model number I won't be of much help. I know some models have a kit out for this issue but the kits are model specific.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
how do I find out the model number?
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

It is on the range unless someone has removed it. See the link below.

I agree, thank you! :~)

This model has issues with the left side blowing out only. Is this the behavior you are seeing or having trouble with the right side, too?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
right side
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Do you know how long the vent line is and how many elbows are used?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
The vent line is approx 7 inches...it is connected to an elbow going up the left side of the range.
I'm assuming there is an elbow at the top
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

I mean how long from the range to the outside vent cap?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
that i don't know...i can't see through the wall
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Is it on an outside wall, just one wall it has to go through?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
it looks like a straight shot out the back of the stove
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Can you post a picture of the vent cap used on the outside? That is likely the issue.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Expert:  Kelly replied 2 months ago.

Yes, that is the problem. That vent cap is not the right one, it is not controlling the air flow as it should be. It needs to be replaced with the proper cap below.

Hello, I see this question is still open and I was just following up to see if you require further assistance.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Hi Kelly,
We ordered the vent cap that you suggested and installed it. The flames on the right side still go out when the vent is on.
It is so dangerous that we don't even use the vent. Any other ideas?
