JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Maytag is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: model is MGDE500VP0
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: yes
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: No, that's all I need. I've only been able to find a 3/8 connector in 6 foot length.

Yes a 3/8 flex gas line is what the unit is designed for so the 3/8 flex line will be fine.

If the run was over 20 feet then you would need to use a larger gas line.
