My Whirlpool Accubake Self-Cleaning gas range won't heat up

This answer was rated:

My Whirlpool Accubake Self-Cleaning gas range won't heat up past 325 degrees. This occurred after I changed the temperature from Celsius back to Fahrenheit.I was cooking some meat at 325, then needed to raise the temp to 350. The display stayed on Pre-heat for a long time. Good thing I noticed, I had to finish cooking my meat in the toaster oven.I turned the oven off and tried to heat it to 350, but the display kept reading pre-heat. What should I do?

Can I please have the Full model number of the unit to better assist you ?

If you open the oven door the model /serial tag will be on the oven face frame.

The Model No. is G5563LX55 0.

Thank you !

Do you have a volt -ohm meter to be able to test the oven cavity sensor?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I don't think so

ok lets try powering the unit off for 5 minutes and powering it back on then let`s try to use the oven and see what the control board does .

Let me know .

You can power it OFF by turning the circuit breaker OFF

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Ok I'll have to wait until my husband can do that

Ok the circuit breaker is very easy for anyone to turn off then back on

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Ok Woody, I did it. I tried to start the oven, but it didn't. I can hear the electric starter click twice, but nothing happens after that. I would usually hear the lighting of the gas burner after that.

And does this happen on BOTH Bake And Broil ?

And do you smell any gas when it is clicking or just after.

And the cooktop burners are all working fine correct?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
The clicking only happens on Bake, nothing happens on Broil.I do not smell gas at all. And the cooktop is working just fine.

ok so when you set the control to Broil and press start the unit does nothing ?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
Correct - nothing, no clicking.

ok that would mean that you have a electronic control board issue .

how old is the unit?

Customer: replied 4 months ago.
I'm not sure, but definitely more than 10 yrs. Can you tell by the Serial No. RT2415460? Would replacing the electronic control board be expensive or not worth it?

I will let you make the decision the control board is almost $250.00

I do not think it is worth it ,but if you want the parts info just let me know

I see you have NOT replied back to me .
Do you still need assistance on your question?
If not I see you have not rated me as of yet!
Even after you rate me if you have a question just reply back to me,
