Just changed out the thermostat on my whirlpool duet dryer

Customer Question

just changed out the thermostat on my whirlpool duet dryer and it worked for a few minutes and then stopped heating again
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Whirlpool is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: its a GEW9250PLO and about 10 years old. Heating element was changed about to years ago and in checking the continuity it was the thermostat that was not working
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: I have so far
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: cant think of anything

There are actually a lot of thermostats on this particular dryer. Can you tell me what thermostat part number you replaced? And have you checked it for continuity since it stopped heating again? Is it open again (no continuity)?
