One moment while I get some information for you!
Hi, welcome to Just Answer. Sorry to hear you are having appliance trouble, I know how frustrating that can be! My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you!
Does the drawer move in and out smoothly, even though it is not closing all the way?
Does it shut all the way if you push it?
Look closely at the slides. Does it appear that either has issues?
Can you tell if it is binding on one side more than the other or what may be catching on the door?
I am not sure how it is popping open then. Is the lid just not coming down?
So the drawer switch in the back is likely at fault. It is in the right rear corner. Does it seem to be intact?
Well, at this point, I cannot say with 100% certainty but would start by replacing the drawer switch. Would you like that link?
Please allow me just a few minutes to prepare some information for you, thank you!
There is one other thing we need to check, depending on the series of this model. What is the number after the SS in the model number, please?
Okay, let's get a look at the drawer catch, number 32 in the diagram at the link below.
See the picture attached, it is shown well there for comparison.
Lower left corner of that picture.
Yes, is that part intact and locking the tub to the tracks?
Okay, so it is either bad tracks or an issue with the drawer switch, mechanically, not electrically.
The drawer switch you said you checked. It gets pushed in when the drawer gets closed.
See the attached page....
It is mechanical in that the drawer pushes against it, that is how the control knows the drawer is shut.
Okay, well good luck.
