The only thing that would affect both the vent above the door and the fan turning on would be the display control board itself. At this point just unplug the microwave or flip the breaker off to the microwave and you won't be able to use it for 24 hours. Allow the unit to dry out for 24 hours. Once it's all dried out, then you can try to plug the unit back in and re-apply power. If it still acts up, then the steam shorted out the display board which is like the mother board for this microwave so the display board will need to be ordered and replaced to resolve the issue.
