Recently installed refrigerator keeps icing up in freezer

Customer Question

recently installed refrigerator keeps icing up in freezer compartment.
JA: What's the make and model of the fridge? And can you guesstimate how old is it?
Customer: Brand new, model HVDR1040B
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Yes, if there are likely items to check, based on your experience.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Condensation forms on the top. Initially I suspected the freezer compartment seal. The hinge was moved from right to left according to instructions. At freezer bottom hinge it seems like there is cold air coming out. tried using vasoline around seal and plugging with tissue paper. the unit is level.

Can I please have the Full model number of the unit to better assist you ?

Have you tried using a hair dryer to heat the rubber gasket material to soften it ?

This will allow the magnet inside the gasket to reform to the refrigerator cabinet when the door is closed to create a good seal.

Customer: replied 10 months ago.
The only model number I have from accompanying literature is HYDR1040B
I will try the hair dryer on the seal.
Where is the best place to check for level?
All of my inside checks look good. However, just got access to the top of the unit, which shows which shows a bit out of level side to side.

Thanks John .

I recommend across the top, so that will be fine .

And just make sure that once you open the door about 1/4 of the way open and let go of the door that it will travel closed on it`s own
