The door was left ajar on our kenmore elite upright deep freezer. Now the door ajar light, power loss light,Buick freeze light, and control light are lit up, but freezer not running and pushing control lock isn't doing anything. Suggestions?

hello , first thing to do is unplug the unit for 2-3 minutes to reset all the electronics ..then replug it in ..alarm lite may still be on until it starts to cool down again ..or if any frost build up got into the air channels ..all press the quick freeze after the board is reset to get back to normal operation faster , but the electronics needs to reset first ,thx randy

We did as you suggested, but the same lights are still on when plugged back in.

if you close the door and leave it for a few minutes see if compressor starts

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The door has been closed. We switched outlets also earlier. We found it not running a couple hours ago and tried looking online for suggestions on what to do--cleared it out and dried out the inside. The door has been closed for awhile now.

at the back the compressor is definately not running? its cool to the touch ?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It is not hot to the touch. It briefly started running right before I contacted you and the power loss light was the only light on and the temperature lights were flashing. I tried to hit the temperature light and all lights came back on and it stopped running. All of this was after it had been unplugged for a few minutes.

if you have a place to put your food , you will need to unplug it for 2-3 hours prop the door open so all or any hidden frost melts in behind panel and sensor ..let it totally reset and melt ..leaving the door ajar wont cause parts to fail but it can cause eratic readings and glitches with electronics

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We already put the food elsewhere--just leave the door open the rest of the night and replug it in and that should reset it?
Expert:  Randy 43 replied 11 months ago.

yes , just let it thaw and leave it unplugged

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Ok, thank you. We will do that. If that does not work, however, will I need to have it looked at?

Ok,sounds good
