Hello. My name is ***** ***** I'll be helping you with your appliance question today. Please wait a few moments while I review your question.
If you see a tone of frost build up on the back wall of your freezer, either the fan behind the back panel in the freezer is no longer running, or you have a failed defrost component. If the unit is less than a year old, call warranty and they will replace the faulty part at no charge. If the unit is over a year old, you need to remove everything out of the freezer including the shelves and the icemaker, and then thaw the back panel out with a hair dryer. Then remove the screws going into the back panel and remove the back panel. Use a hair dryer and thaw all the frost out behind the back panel. If you have a multimeter, test continuity through the heater and the defrost thermostat. If either part has no continuity---replace it. If both parts check good, you need a new control board because that is what controls the defrost function.
