Maytag A612. Washer starts and stops shortly after starting

Customer Question

Maytag A612. Washer starts and stops shortly after starting on spin cycle . with possible over heating of motor. Do all Maytags have capacitor ? If not what are the possible problems ?
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Maytag is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: It is a Newton Model if that helps.
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Hopefully.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: Just that we have the washer panels off, have replaced both belts and are scratching our heads on how to get this working.

hello , if the motor is having a hard time turning there is a thermal cut out on the motor,if it cools down and starts up again? then that is the motor overheating , it could be a tight bearing if the basket is seizing up that will cause the motor to overheat ,try taking the belts off and run the spin cycle with just the motor and see if it cuts out? if it doesnt ?then there is a strain on the motor when the belts are on,if it still cuts out then its a electrical issue or timer

Repalced bad motor with new one. Still having the same issue on spin cycle. Double checking timer to see if problem persists. Any other recommendatioins ? Appears to have no capacitor although schematics show otherwise.

Prefer not to call. Checking for continuity on timer.
