Help. The 700 TF model number Sub Zero Model 700 Tf Serial

Customer Question

Hi Kelly
Help. The 700 TF model number Sub Zero Model 700 Tf
Serial M1194848 was turned off by the appliance guy who came out to check it. I'm trying to turn it on now and it's not working!! I'm having a party for $4900 (to pay for these repairs!) at my house this weekend and wanted to use the freezer as a refrigerator. I used to push the colder button to turn it on and push the warmer button to turn it off. But now it is not working at all. It is been turned off for about two weeks. Can you help me please? I really need a second refrigerator now and this unit will heat up to 42°

Is the control not responding or what exactly is happening?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
it's not responding.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I The control and nothing happens.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The power to the unit is the same and I double checked by turning it on and off at the power panel. There is no switch underneath the bottom drawer to turn it on or off that I can see. The control panel is not responding at all.

Any lights on at all to signal it is getting power?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No light. Nothing
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Can you call me please? I didn't see your answer came back to me
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

I wonder if he left it disconnected somewhere.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
That's what I'm thinking.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Have you verified it is plugged in and no GFI outlet is tripped?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
we turned on and off all circuit breakers. The outlet is behind the unit
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

I bet he unplugged it. Did he have it pulled out?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No he was lazy!! He didn't even put a tester on it.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Oh my....was it running when he got there?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No. I had it turned off. Didn't want to burn the electricity. He turned it on then wrote a report for sub zero
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
He listened to what I said to him regarding the other guy testing it. I gave him the number the other guy got thinking he would use that to compare what he got then he just used what I said!!!!!!

Your model has a POWER button on the far right, correct?

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Sounds like your area lacks very good techs....lol.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
NOOO. NOT THAT I know of.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I have always turned it on and off by hitting the colder button to turn it on and the warmer button turns it off I just keep pushing until the temperature goes up then off
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

See attached page. Yours does not have that control?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
That's it. Never seen an on off button
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Remember mine was the first install in Southern California when this unit came out
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

OH okay, thank you. There is no power to the control, so if he did not disassemble anything, it likely has a control failure or a connection off somewhere.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I have an idea. When I called Sub Zero this morning and they couldn't help me, the guy said that the door will shut off the unit if it is left open. I had it off and the unit started to mold on the inside so I open the door a few days ago. Do you think that has something to do with this? I didn't want any more mold to grow
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It should reset once the door is closed, though. You had the door closed a bit today or no?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No. It's been closed except for maybe five minutes open
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We do have the drawer at the bottom pulled now
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It's been out two hours
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It's got to be an issue with the power supply if he did not disassemble anything.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
there's nothing below where that double bottom drawer is that will turn it on correct?Jacob found a plug that was disconnected down below.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Can you get access to the plug in?

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

If there are plugs that are disconnected, that can cause it, sure. But I am not sure how they would get disconnected.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The website is messing up again.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Trying to send a pic and it says I already sent it. I have a pic of the plug thatbisndiscnnexyed
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Is there a connector to plug it in to?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Jacob didn't see anything. He looked for about 20 minutes
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.
