My whirlpool side by side counter depth refrigerator has been making a popping sound periodically. Today it is almost continuous. It sound like it's coming from the air filter mechanism but it's difficult to tell for sure.
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Whirlpool is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?
Customer: 3 years old. Model # GSC25C6EYW01
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: probably not unless something very simple
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: now the popping has stopped but its been increasing in length of time

Number 4 in the diagram at the link below is the air damper that opens and closes to allow cold air from the freezer to enter the refrigerator. It has an electric motor that opens and closes it according to the input from the temperature sensors. Is that where the noise is coming from?
