Can you explain the noise you're hearing? Are you hearing a roaring jet engine noise or a loud banging/clunking? Screeching?
OK so that's a rather big problem. It means that the inner basket support has a broken arm on the back of the inner basket which is causing it to spin out of round and rub on the front gasket. That basket support will definitely need to be replaced as well as possibly the bearing in the rear of the outer tub that the shaft goes through if you try to pull the basket out and have difficulty pulling it out of the rear bearing meaning the bearing is also damaged. If you called a technician to repair this unit it would cost about $350-450 or so with parts, trip and labor.
