Customer Question

Hi Kelly
I hope this note finds you well. We are going to pull out the sub zero freezer today and figure out what's wrong. I asked you about this at an earlier date. Are you available to help us? The temperature is 43°

How do we get this out????
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We have taken the drawers out.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Thanks for counting on us to help with your appliance problem. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you!

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Is that the 700 Sub Z we talked about that had the sealed system issue?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
sir
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Let me see if I can find the installation manual. I have not pulled one of those out.

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It may be secured at the top for the weight of the door panels but, other than that, it appears to just pull out.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It's super heavy. We were trying to get the door off and couldn't figure out how to do that. The door is heavy. There is very little headroom
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Cannot tilt it. We actually switched to the Maytag dryer for a bit and decided to wait for your help. Lol. Frustrated.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Yeah, it is very heavy!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Good morning. The sub zero freezer will be $1850 and the 700Br will be $1600 to repair. I called Sub Zero and gave them the good news and I am waiting for their response.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Oh my......maybe they will help with some of that...maybe....

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
They said they don't recommend the repair. They will give me 10% off new model. That's doesn't help me. I need to find a used one
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Wow, I am not sure I would buy Sub Zero!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Well they do make a nice unit but the problem is they made a 27" unit and then discontinued it. Now if I get new one, I have to modify my cabinets!!
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Oh, great, I keep seeing dollar signs!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
$8k for a new one
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Plus cabinet modification.....and the custom panels will need to be custom fit as I am sure they won't swap to the new one.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Exactly. A fortune. $10k
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
This dryer belt seems too large. How does it go pn?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
The new one is 30" or 24".
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
f**kers
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

What was that model number again?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
For the subzero or the Maytag? I'm confused
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I need the diagram for the Maytag dryer. We found a long hinge on the back that's not attached. I think that was the running problem!
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

The dryer, please, sorry.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
This mounting bracket is in the back. It was loose. That's probably what was loosened and not reattached. That was what was rubbing I'll bet
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Neptune MHW2000AWW
Serial number(###) ###-####UU
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Oh, yeah, definitely. The rear bulkhead is dropped and will cause the drum to be misaligned!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Yup. Well we replaced that other stuff so it should go another 20 years!!! Lol
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I need to know where to attach that mounting bracket
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

The screw goes in from the back of the machine. Look at the marks on the paint, that will tell you what hole to use.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Both brackets are off. That's what the problem was
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
There no marks on the inside. We will pull out and see if we can tell from backside
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

There should be screws coming in from the back to hold that in place.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
How do these wires fit on?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Are there other wires, too? What is the model of the dryer, I need to look up the wiring diagram.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I sent to you
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It's a stackable into
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Unit
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Oh crap, sorry, I read right over that. Please allow me just a few minutes to prepare some information for you, thank you!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Thanks Kelly!
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

The white, gray and yellow all go to the door switch, not those terminals.

White goes to COM

Gray goes to NO

Yellow goes to NC

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
What goes on those terminals?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Does that blue one come from the cord terminal?

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

What number is ***** that blue wire, is it 19?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
it says 19
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

There should be a ground wire that goes to those smaller terminals on the sensor strips and the blue wire goes to them as well. Put the blue and the ground wire on the bottom terminals.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Inside the lint thing, at the bottom left of the plastic apparatus, there is two holes that are seeing daylight. Meaning when the lint goes into duct, lint will escape into unit. Why are those holes there? What did we miss?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Is the ground wire Grey? It goes to the sensor strips as well
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

There should be a rubber boot that goes on the round part to seal against the blower housing.

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

No, the gray wire goes to the door switch. The ground wire should be green.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Ahh that's the problem. The boot was loose. Got to watch my buddy Jacob here!! Quality control!!
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
How does that boot attach ?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It does not attach, it just goes around the plastic part and is held in place when it is put on the machine. Make sure it does not get folded in when the front is attached.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
That's what happened. I was looking at it before we wrapped and looked down the lint vent and noticed the gap. It's about 3/4" gap between the two parts. Should they be flush? The. The rubber boot over it or does that runner boot fully he gap?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Got it.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Woohoo, almost there!

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
I am looking. For a loose green wire. I see one that is attached to the frame. I don't see one that is loose
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Here's the confusion.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
What wires go to the four terminals on the drum? Which. Goes to the door? And where is that ground?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

The white, gray and yellow all go to the door switch, not those terminals.

White goes to COM

Gray goes to NO

Yellow goes to NC

The blue one goes to the sensor strips.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

No green wire loose in the bottom or around the area where those strips are?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
No. This is a pic of the green wire
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Which of the four prongs does the blue wire connect to?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Either of the two bottom ones, then the ground goes to the other bottom one.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
In that last pic, do you see the green wire?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Number 10 is the ground wire for the sensor, it is supposed to be screwed on that front bulkhead.

Omg. You're amazing !! We found that wire. It was on top of fridge. Lol
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Right where I thought it would be! LOL

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Okay so we know where one end goes. Where does the other end go?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

To one of the screws on that metal bulkhead.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Okay so it doesn't matter where.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It just has to be on any metal of the dryer (ground).

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Okay so those two upper prongs don't have anything connected to them?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

No, the clothing just passes over the strips and then the moisture is read by the two wires you just put on.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Where does the green plastic thing go?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Should be a small hole to the underside of the dryer cabinet. That allows the door to be opened if the lock fails.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Where does this go?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Top of the dryer cabinet, I think in the left front corner but it may be on the right front, it has been a while since I have worked on one of those.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Okay it's the top left. Jacob forgot how it attached. It's been a while since we started this project. Do you have a diagram?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It's oart 24 right? How does it mount on dryer?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Yes, it screws on the edge of the cabinet.

Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

See the attached page

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We are stuck
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Did you see that page I attached?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
but it's confusing.
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Let me see if I can find a pic, one sec....

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We don't see any evidence of something being previously attached. Which end faves up?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Does it go in sideways? In the back or the left side or the front?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Right front corner.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Right if I was facing unit?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
It looks like it should screw on as there are two screw holes that look used. But we cannot line those up anywhere
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

It lays flat so it is not in the way of the drum. It screws onto the top panel.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
is the metal back facing up or down? In other words, does the electrical parts face the drum?
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Yes, the board should face the drum.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Bam! Slammed that part in finally!!
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Does this tab go behind or in front?
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Customer: replied 11 months ago.
We are so close yet so far!!
Expert:  Kelly replied 11 months ago.

Back behind, the marks on the back part are from the screw head.

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
