on the ice maker itself there are 4 wires.
Then there are two spots for wires on the solenoid
SO I spliced an extra power cord and have it attached to the white and black wire. I am thinking I need to attach another one to the White and Tan to the solenoid??

One wire from the solenoid goes to white ( the neutral of the power cord ) White from power cord also goes to white of icemaker , tan from icemaker goes to the other terminal of the solenoid , black ( hot wire of the cord goes to black of the icemaker ) and green is the grounded wired ( to cord or to cabinet ground )
