Our Frigidaire refrigerator went dead during this heat wave

Customer Question

Our Frigidaire refrigerator went dead during this heat wave in NY. It is a FFPT10F3NW model. It was in the basement not the primary refrigerator and was 2 1/2 years old. It was out of warranty Frigidaire wanted no part of it.
Is it worth repairing?

Can you explain what you mean by "dead"? Is the unit 100% silent and the lights inside don't turn on?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
Light is on but no refrigeration

OK perfect. So that means your thermostat has just failed and isn't turning anything on. This is the part behind the knob that you turn to adjust the temperature. Below is a link to the thermostat you'd need to order for your model number.
