My Samsung refrigerator bottom freezer is freezing up again.

Customer Question

My Samsung refrigerator bottom freezer is freezing up again. Also water in the bottom of refrigerator. I fixed it several months ago with a new defrost sensor but it started doing it again. I just put in a new sensor again last night but this morning I can tell that didn't do it. I also put in a new aftermarket part that goes into the drain hole farther to keep the drain from freezing. I didn't check to see if the heating coil was good or not. I see where this is a BIG problem with Samsung. Do you have any suggestions?
JA: Can you guesstimate how old your Samsung is? And just to clarify, what's the exact model?

Hello, I'm Joel and will be glad to help you today,

That defrost system consists of a control board puts it into defrost, a bi-metal thermostat so that power is not supplied to the heater if the freezer is too warm and a sensor for telling the computer what the evaporator temp is and the heater. If you replaced the sensor and its still freezing up then you need to check the heater for continuity with a meter, if its good, replace the defrost thermostat and it it still freezes up replace the control board, I have listed the parts below.

Thermostat - Part #: DA47-00243K - click here

Heater - Part #: DA47-00424B - click her
