Need Appliance Repair Help? Ask a Technician for Answers ASAP
Hello and thanks for using this service, if you have been waiting do not worry or get upset. I am Appliance Guru an extremely experienced tech on the site and I try to get to as many customers as I can. I just picked up your question now. NOTE it takes time for me to type research and add links so please wait for me to respond back I can only do this so fast. Secondly I am not paid anything until you rate my service good using the STAR RATING LINK at the top of your page, the money is paid to the site not me directly.
What is the make and model and if this is an electric oven you should just shut the circuit breaker off if it is still heating to stop it. Let me know
All I ask is please use the Star Rating Link at the top of your page before leaving, that is the only way I am paid anything through the site and that will also get you a DIRECT LINK emailed to you to get back to me!.....tips are greatly appreciated so thank you very much for using this service. If you have any other questions just post back to me here anytime!
Is it electric or gas and do you have the model number off the unit?
OK you should be able to just unplug the oven and it should shut off. If the gas valve is stuck open on the unit you would have to slide it out and shut the gas shut off off behind the unit to shut it off. Unplug it first and see if it stops heating.
Slide it out and pull the plug or go and shut the breaker off in the basement at the circuit panel
OK give it a minute and see if it shuts off and let me know.
You have it unplugged correct?
You can but I would wait a bit to see if it cools down and is not heating for sure.
You can plug it in and see if it starts to heat again, if so the thermostat control is likely bad and you will have to get it replaced and leave it unplugged until you do.
I would leave it unplugged and I believe you will need a new thermostat
It depends on the model, typically 100-150 for that part
That is where you pulled the knob off....that is the thermostat
Yes that is mechanical thermostat for that oven you would need to get the model number to order the correct one, you may need a tech to install it as you need to be handy to do the job.
It should be on the frame when you open the drawer or door.
No it will say Model or MOD.....then will say TFX25SBX1 or something like that
