Customer Question

I have a Maytag Bravos 400 top loading washer that is creating a VERY loud noise in the spin cycle. It was bought in 2007, I think. Is this something I can repair easily?

Customer: The washes appears to be okay, sound wise, except when it moves to the spin cycle. The noise from the spinning is almost unbearable.
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Appliance Technician should know?
Customer: I don't think so
JA: OK. Got it. I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully-refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Appliance Technician about your situation and then connect you two.

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! Please know that I am not compensated for my time by the site until you rate using the stars at the top of your page. A rating is appreciated once we get to the solution for your appliance issue, thanks! There is a bearing in the outer tub that has likely worn, usually because of a leak. Any water leakage that you have noticed? If you tip the machine back and look at the cabinet inside, is there water splashes at about the level of the bottom of the tub? May I please have your model number so I am able to provide you with accurate, model specific information?

I am at work so I will get model number and verify if there is a leak problem once I get home. I will get back to you asap.

Sure, no worries. The video below shows what you will be up against to replace the tub assembly. The tub runs about $250 or so, depending on the model. CLICK HERE
