Microwave oven made a buzz/clunk sound when I t the go

Customer Question

Microwave oven made a buzz/clunk sound when I hit the go button yesterday and now will not heat at all on any setting. Timer and turntable still work. Built-in GE Spacemaker XL1800, probably 12 years old (house was built in 2003). Is this the end, might it be fixable, and if so, could I do it myself?

This would mean the magnetron needs to be replaced. You could do it yourself but just remember that even after unplugged that microwaves still contain very high voltage and are dangerous.

I did not get a phone call, which is what I need....
Can't text for shit with a flip phone and don't have a texting option.
What can we do here?
Perhaps I should just buy a countertop micro and screw the built-in. What say you?
