Customer Question

Customer: Freezer stopped working. Refrigerator working fine. Had freezer door open for a prolonged period because ice maker started leaking water and had to clean up mess. Until this incident, ha no problems.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: Had appliance service man at house when this occured and he said that as long as i had door open (cleaning out freezer), it could take up to 24 hrs to cool back down. This is in a weekend lake house and when we returned this weekend the freezer was at room temp.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — JustAnswer charges a fee (generally around $18) to post your type of question to Appliance Experts (you only pay if satisfied). There are a couple customers ahead of you. Are you willing to wait a bit?

Hi Paul,

Sorry to hear about you fridge problem :(

Are you by the fridge and can you get around the back and remove the cardboard or metal backing that covers the compressor housing? If so, remove the back and check to see if the compressor ( big round part) is hot.
