our dishwasher will not start. The soap dispenser opens, but when you turn the dial the dishwasher does not start.

Hello, the first thing to do is check the junction box on the bottom right of the machine with a volt meter. Remove the toe kick and check the black and white wire for 110v. If power is present, you'll need to remove the door skin and check the door switch for continuity. You'll need to be handy and know how to make continuity as well as live voltage checks to fix this issue. I work on the honor system here @ Just Answers.
