Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! On the side of the agitator, right at the bottom where the bottom connects with the top part, there is a small screw. Loosen that screw and the agitator will pull out. Turn it upside down and place the top in a container of white distilled vinegar for 24 hours. That will break down any scale and mineral build up that is keeping the filter in place.
It is not specified but is either a 1/4" hex head or a Torx head T-15. At that age, probably a hex head.
