Hello from JA
My name is Woody.
I will be glad to assist you today.
I have been servicing ALL Major Brands of Appliances for 35 Years,
and have over 100,000 in home repairs and over 80,000 internet repairs under my belt.

That is a error code of

F6-E1 which means the SERIAL COMMUNICATION ERROR,

The communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.

You need to check the wire harness connection on the ,main CCU control board and on the MCU motor control board.

Does your washer have the dryer on top of it? or is the top clear just the painted panel

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
it has the dryer on top
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Oh man .

well you will just be able to bottom front panel ( two screws under the panel one on each side) and check the MCU control board wire harness connections.

The CCU you can not get too unless you remove the dryer and then the top washer panel .

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
basically unplug the wiring harness and replug
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Yes making sure the harness is locked in place.

The MCU is on the left side under the drum after the front panel has been removed

And if the harness is ok and it does not fix the unit .

You will have to remove the dryer off of the washer.

Do you think you would be able to do that?

once my son in law comes home, need extra muscle
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I will try this and get back to you, thank you.
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

ok if the connections on the MCU are good ,then you will need to remove the dryer .

And that means that you will need to pull the combo out and the dryer has two brackets that hold it on to the washer .then you can lift the dryer up and off.

then the top panel has two screws from the rear then remove those two screws and push the top panel forward and off the top of the washer and the CCU is mounted on the top rail.

Then let me know

And of course before doing any work on the washer remember to turn the circuit breaker off !!

Thank you I will get back to you with the outcome

No problem!

After you check the wire harnesses try running the unit and see if you still get the error !

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Hello again, I reseated the connectors to the MCU and the CCU boards and am still getting the same error code. What should be my next step?
Expert:  Whrlp Master Tech replied 1 year ago.

Ok then I would recommend to replace the ccu control board .

This is the one up top on the top rail ,here is a link to the part.
