Customer Question

Frigidaire oven stuck with lock mechanism open, so door will not shut. I have tried every possible combination of powering of, holding cancel and door light button simultaneously, blah, blah, but nothing works.

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! Hold the door light switch in and start a clean cycle. With the door switch held in the entire time, allow about 90 seconds, then press cancel. Do not let go of the door switch until it has unlocked and totally cleared on the display. Let me know what happens.

nothing happens when I hit the clean button

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Okay, can you hear a humming or buzzing noise from either the area of the latch or the rear left of the range?

May I please have your model number so I am able to provide you with accurate, model specific information?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
no humming sound.
I can't find a model number
Expert:  Kelly replied 1 year ago.

The model number will be behind the drawer on the bottom.

Thank you! Did the unit get started in a clean cycle or how did the latch get locked?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I was cleaning the display and must have touched several buttons simultaneously or close together. It started a clean cycle but did not latch. I think there was an F3 error at some point.

any other suggestions?
Expert:  Kelly replied 1 year ago.

Beyond what you have tried, no. It should turn the clean cycle on if you hold the door switch in and press clean.
