Whirlpool washer will not unlock. i have waited for awhile after load finishes and unplugged unit. Still no good

What is the make and model of the unit?

Ok if the unit is not pumping out and has water in it it will not open, so you may need to suck the water out throughout the drain hose with a shop vac and then plug it back in and the door should open. If not remove the top on the unit( 3 screws along the back top edge and slide the top off) Once off reach down by the door latch and pull straight down on the release tab. The door will then open. You may have a bad pump or clogged pump filter causing the issue.
