We are trying to remove our GE model JVM1440BA from above

Customer Question

We are trying to remove our GE model JVM1440BA from above the stove.
The two bolts are out but the microwave doesn't budge.
We can wiggle it but it is not coming down.
Is there a mounting bracket behind it?
Does the microwave have to be lifted to be removed?

There is a mounting bracket on the back, but that only holds the microwave at the lower back edge. The top of the microwave should just be held in by the 2 bolts that you removed and then the vent assembly if you have the microwave connected to the vent. Disconnect the vent first if you need to pull the microwave out and if that isn't connected or you have disconnected it already, the microwave is just stuck. You'll just need to pull it so that it hinges forward and down and then the microwave should lift up and off.
