We have a kitchenaid dishwasher 577-0 model Kudco31vbl3.

Customer Question

We have a kitchenaid dishwasher 577-0 model Kudco31vbl3. When we start normal cycle, it runs for few minutes and stops. We have to press normal button again and starts the cycle but stops again. We have to continue doing this to get dishes clean. The cycle never completes.
Some the normal button just keeps flashing or never light up to start the cycle. We just have to keep pressing buttons. After sometime it lights up and starts. Please help

The touchpad is the most probable failure here although there could be a problem with the control board too. How old is this?

There is no waranty on the parts then. I would get the console (that is how the t/pad comes) and control board from a place that allows returns like Try the console first and if all is well then return the control as you will not need it. The touchpad is most certainly bad as it is intermittent and a control board does not act like that. The fact that the unit shuts down may be a bad board or the touchpad is simply sending a bad signal to the board and that is why it stops running, so that is why I say get both parts at the same time.
