Why do my lights get brighter when the microwave turns on

Customer Question

Why do my lights get brighter when the microwave turns on and they are in different circuits?

The lights should be on a different circuit but if not, that would explain the issue you're having. The microwave is definitely supposed to be on it's on circuit. Other than that, if the lights are dimming out, something is just not wired properly in the house or the wiring is getting hold causing a voltage drop when the microwave is in use.
