Hi I'm Adam, I have a Kenmore(###) ###-####and it appears to be leaking from the front over flow area where the door hinges. It looks like there might have been a rubber piece/shield there at one time but now it a splashes

Ok the area under the door is an air gap is is designed that way on all dishwashers.

Make sure that the dishwasher is leaning to the rear at least 1/8 th of a bubble on a level

And it sounds as if you are getting suds coming out over the door air gap.

The vinegar is nice ,but not strong enough to clean the unit that well.

I recommend to use a dishwasher cleaner ,and you may need to use it more then once.
