Customer Question

We have a model TDX 9 General Electric Refrigerator. It is probably about five years old. It leaks water on to the floor intermittently in the front end of the refrigerator. What could be the cause of that problem?
Thank you.

Hi, the drain line inside under the evaporator usually becomes clogged with debris or ice. When that happens the defrost water does not flow down the defrost drain line it flows forward and down and out the front of the unit. The insides will need to be taken apart to gain access to the drain line. You can pour hot water down the line until clear. It's good to also scope the line to make sure it's completely clear.
