Are the fans blowing and is the compressor running?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I don't hear a fan. The freezer is working so the compressor must be doing something.

Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

IS the freezer fan working?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

I will have my husband look and get back to you tomorrow. OK?

Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

Yes that is fine

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Cleaned out freezer and made sure fan vents are clear. Husband says compressor is working but no fan.

Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

OK can he remove the panel off the inside back of the freezer to check the evaporator frost pattern?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

No frost at all. Freezer does not seem to be keeping cold at all. But we can hear what we assume is compressor.

Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

OK if there is no frost at all and the compressor is running for sure, you have a sealed system issue, most likely the unit is out of freon. That would be a big issue and expensive to repair.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
There is no frost on fan but ice on coils behind it.
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

Are all the coils frosty and is the fan running?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Fan not running. All coils frosty
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

Ok the fan not running is the issue, check it for power that is why the unit does not cool.

All I ask is please rate my service with the star rating link.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Seems to have power. Should I just order a new one?
Expert:  Appliance Guru replied 1 year ago.

Yes if it has power order that and it will work great again.

Customer: replied 1 year ago.

Thank you, I hope so!

we double checked the voltage to fan and now see there is none. Does this mean we have to order a thermostat too?
