LG front load washer door won't close/lock

Customer Question

LG front load washer door won't close/lock

Is the door just binding up or is it not closing properly?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I don't know what you mean by binding up; it does not click to close. Instead it bounces back open.

Ok the door hinges are bad. Often the detergent dispenser leaks a little water and bleach onto the door hinge pin binding up the door so it will not close right. You need to replace the entire door hinge or remove the tub boot and peel it back then spray wd-40 rust spray onto the pin and work the door back and forth until it is operating correctly. This is a very common issue on the LG units.

I'm sorry but my issue is not with the door moving, its connecting to the closure opening. I'm going to call LG on Monday.

OK sounds good sorry I could not assist you better.

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
we both agree you did not answer my issue, so I should not be charged.

Hi, welcome to Just Answer. My name is ***** ***** I look forward to helping you! If the door is shutting easily but just not latching, the door lock assembly is likely faulty and will need to be replaced. The part link and a video showing how to replace it is below.
