Customer Question

I got an F21 code today. Opened the bottom panel and took a LOT of junk out of the drain. Put it all back together, code went away, and ran a "drain/spin" load. Got another F21 so we pulled the drain hose and cleaned it out. Code was gone so I tried to do a short load but it won't start. All lights come on like it's working, but nothing happens.

Maytag 3000. I don't know the model number because the door is locked.

It's a front-loader. About 5 years old.

Does the unit drain?

Customer: replied 2 years ago.
I don't know. It won't run a cycle at all.

This can mean a problem with the drain pump but it can also mean the drain hose is stuck to far down the standpipe.
If the drain hose is to far down the standpipe then the washer might fill and drain at the same time because of a siphon action. This would cause a LD (long drain) error code.
Unplug the unit for 30 minutes too and see what happens.
